Our Story
Rowley Rescue Ranch was
founded in 2020 and our rescue facility is located
in Nixa, MO
Our mission is to provide and promote the humane treatment of horses through education and adoption.
Over the years we have found that horses enter the slaughter pipeline for three main reasons
Lack of funds from the owners to continuing owning a horse
Health reasons or older age
Training issues or behavioral problems
Rowley Rescue Ranch focuses on improving the lives of the the horses that come through our doors in every way.
It starts from the day they are rescued or surrendered where we ensure their medical needs, routine veterinary and farrier care are up to date and maintained from that day forward.
Every horse enters into a professional training program and most horse complete a 30 day refresher prior to being adopted.
If we uncover training gaps or behavioral issues, those are addressed and corrected prior to a horse being eligible for adoption.
We offer training services not only to adopters but also to the general public to solve problems before these horse are surrendered or end up in the slaughter pipeline.
In 2023 we are going to start offering Education and Clinic days which will further equine education and horse management skills, to increase successful horse ownership and adoptions.
We treat every horse that comes through our doors as though they are our personal horses.
We have successfully found adoptive homes from Colorado to New York and have a reputation on honesty and transparency in the equine industry.
We would love to have you out to tour our wonderful facility and meet our rescue horses, or sign up for an Equine Education Clinic Day!!

Meet Our Founder
Samantha Jane Hale
Chief Executive Officer, President, and Founder
Samantha grew up England
and her passion for
horses started at 4
years old when she was
allowed to ride her
neighbor's pony,
Titus.
That passion never ceased and her life has had horses in it ever since. She went to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and was a Pre Vet Major, Equine Science Minor, and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. During collage (and after) she volunteered for CANTER California. This is where her passion for OTTBs really blossomed and she saw how amazing these Thoroughbreds are. At this point she purchased her heart horse Maverick (JC: Captain Jade) off of Golden Gate Fields and will have him for the rest of his life. He went on to have a very successful showing career in Eventing, Western Dressage, Show Jumping, and is a true all rounder! After college she went on to work at the SF SPCA, the Hayward Animal Control, and numerous veterinary clinics. She then went on to be the head trainer for a rescue and while she loved being a trainer, she saw the huge need for rescuing horses from the slaughter pipeline that lacked training to be successful and keep them out of these situations in the future. At that point she created Rowley Rescue Ranch. Always an animal advocate with a special love for horses and the matchmaking process, she continues to work tirelessly to find horses forever homes! |
