Hank is our first Mule at the rescue and boy is he a cutie!
We rescued him from a local auction where he was ridden through and said to have been used to haul logs out of the woods.
Since he has been with us he has really started to come out of his shell.
The first night it was cold and we put a blanket on him which he really seemed to appreciate.
He came in with a bad upper respiratory infection and really enjoyed his extra special alfalfa snacks.
When he was fully recovered he went out with the herd and pasture life is his favorite.
Hank aka Hankey Pankey is a great companion to all of the horses, especially the colts.
He likes to race them around the pasture and is gentle but playful with them.
We have had dogs around him and while he will chase them away he hasn't kicked at any of them or been overly aggressive.
He is halter trained, leads, and loads well in a trailer.
You can pick up all four feet and he ties if hard tied.
He has had his teeth checked by our equine dentist and his was aged at 8 years old.
Hank has been vaccinated, de-wormed, and is up to date on his farrier care and coggins.
He likes to be brushed and once he trusts you he likes you to pet his face.
He isn't very fond of his ears being touched and can sometimes be a little tricky to catch but we are working on these things with him.
He is a very easy keeper and only eats grass hay.
He has good feet and have no history of lameness or founder.
He is not on any supplements or maintenance.
We believe he could be a successful riding mule with more training.
Hankey is ready for his new home and to make a family happy as a companion or herd protector!
